Colville Homes For Sale

Truly a recreation heaven, there's even more to see and do in Colville, Washington. Do you enjoy the water? With over half a dozen lakes to choose from - not to mention the Colville, Kettle and Columbia Rivers - your cup literally runneth over.

A popular site for all kinds of water activities is the 151-mile-long Lake Roosevelt. One of Northeast Washington's largest, there are more than 30 recreational areas distributed along its 660 miles' worth of lakeshore. Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, motor boating, windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing - you name it, they have it. You can even rent a seasonal houseboat at the Kettle Falls marina.

Though you won't find them anywhere near these more boisterous crowds, fishing enthusiasts also throng the lake. The attraction? The probably more than two dozen species of freshwater fish in the waters of Lake Roosevelt. Other lakes in the area where you can camp out and fish include Deep Lake, Ione, Loon Lake and the intriguingly named Jump Off Joe Lake. Most of these lakes have boat launching and rental facilities as well.

The Climate in Colville

The great weather is one of the reasons why it's so easy to enjoy spending time outside your Colville property. The average temperature is just below 70 degrees Fahrenheit, with lows at around 25 and highs at a little over 80 degrees. Colville's average rainfall is 17 inches and the average snowfall is 48.

Winter Recreation

Even when winter comes and the snow piles up, Colville residents remain as active as ever, maybe even more so. From November to March - which is how long the snow stays - an array of winter activities becomes available. A mecca for snowmobile enthusiasts, Colville has a host of snow parks. Cross country skiers have the time of their lives on intricate, groomed trails and downhill skiers can either cross the border and go down the slopes of the Red Mountain Ski Area in Rossland, BC or go past Chewelah to the 49 Degrees North Ski Area.

With all this, is it any wonder why Colville homes for sale are selling like hotcakes? You'd be hard put to find anyplace else with the rare combination of elements that this city has.
